Carter Update Day 258 PBMT
Wednesday, October 1st, 2008I can’t believe it’s been 258 days since Carter’s transplant. That’s approximately 22,291,200 seconds, 371,520 minutes, 6,192 hours, 36 weeks (rounded down) or 8 months 14 days, and I can honestly tell you I’ve felt every single second. Carter has been a real trooper lately and the only hiccup we have had since I last wrote to you was he had to go back in for a surgical procedure to fix (replace) his ear tubes. The old ones had run their course and were not working anymore. Due to Carter’s illness he can be very susceptible to ear infections so this was a must do procedure. They also decided to do a inner ear hearing test with a Audiologist to test his baseline hearing since he has not passed an official hearing test. I don’t know if you have ever taken a 22 month old in to get their hearing tested, but it’s really futile process when they don’t want to cooperate it’s useless. Anyway the Audiologist determined that Carter is suffering from a deteriorated hearing loss from the inner ear, his nerve test was fine, so he doesn’t have any major hearing problems, and like everything else we have to keep an eye…errr…an ear on this as time goes by and hope that this problem will pass with putting the tubes in his ears.
I’m sorry I don’t have recent photos of Carter with me, as I am in the PHX airport right now and don’t have my camera. I will try and get some posted soon.
Once again… we love you guys! Have a great rest of the week.
